I'm late for everything  :whatever: Anyway, I understand your position girls. It's a real shame it's come to the lock-down and it won't put a stop to the sharing and distributing the info but at least it will help you target who shares information outside. It will have to be people amongst the members absolutely. I don't understand why people insisted on posting your info on BA without credits or permission. And I don't understand why some can't understand the don't post this on BA warning, always in red. You took the right decision.

I was about to ask the same thing as Lork, but since Annie basically said they have a way to deal with the spy lurkers or whatever we shall call them, I'm fine.

Also, Arie I love your idea about a post for major updates. I'm always logged on DB on my laptop but at school I just check as a visitor. That would be great for people like us.  :)

I'm so late  I didn't notice that the forum was locked before I saw this thread (I'm always logged on my laptop, except at work). It's sad that this has to be done, but if people act like that, drastic actions must be taken

I second what KuuroRukia said  :bouncy: it would be very useful when I check DB on my crappy phone.

Lovely stamp by Michi!

I have nothing against this. If it's for the better, then it's okay for me. I'm sorry for all the drama that's happening between DB and BA. Everything would have been okay if people just follow rules and be respectful but I guess it can't be helped. It's sad that this has to be done but it's the right thing.

And thank you Arie for that, the update post will be very helpful ^^ I only log in via phone so I think that would be really nice, hahaha :P

Thanks Michi for the stamp!

It's a shame that certain parties did not respect your wishes for the goodies to not be distributed. In the past, I used to be one of those who didn't really care that much about the sharing and crediting, but I realized it's a proper gesture of courtesy to credit and to ask for permission before you share something that's not yours. So I pretty much understand the move here. And if you have to watermark to prevent the thieves, then by all means watermark the thing to DEATH. :cookiemonster: I don't really mind, and if anybody wanted the original scan/art/work, they can ask them from the owners themselves (and you already know the people you have to look out for, so that should be okay).

About the locked forum for members, it's not a problem for me, because I'm logged in all the time. :) If I might point out one downside to this, locking the forum will cease exposure of this forum to a lot of lurkers out there (the good ones, mind you) who want to follow the developments and posts. You might lose these fans halfway. But I guess if the fandom is really important to them, they will find a way... and register. :) It's not hard and it's a wonderful community here so it should be fine. :)

It's a good idea as posted by the previous users about the major updates links. You could have a "major updates announcement" up at the front that shows what's happening. That should be a good way for the members to log in when they see something they immediately want to see.

I hope the issue settles soon enough. :)

If you want, I can make an update post and people can update and post links towards updates, so you'd know what's going on even while logged off?

Like ch491 spoilers are out, May calendar is out, info from this and this are out? Just giving links though, nothing else.

What do you guys think about it? Annie asked for this, because even for her, it'll be hard to go in the forums if she's away.

Yep! That would be lovely. I would be able to update even more than when it's not locked because I'm skippy and always on a run I would only check if I have work to do, words to keep or a conversation to follow =))))))))

Don't worry Yuki, we'll watermark everything to death with the forum address, so every little good butterfly would be able to track the way home '___'v

This is an understandable action. It is a shame that people could not respect your wishes but hopefully, this will stop art thievery and goodies you share from being spread elsewhere.

The only problem is people may end up registering just to do this. (Though, why anyone would go through all that trouble just to take what you share with us, is beyond me.) But, if everything is watermarked to death then, it means they can't lie and claim they found it a OM or any other forum. :whatever:

The locked forum isn't a problem for me. I only ever log on when using my own computers.

I was surprised to see the latest changes when I dropped by the forum today after a few days of absence. I understand why this measure was taken, but like other members have pointed out, there are still ways for people to steal and disseminate information outside this forum. I tend to lurk if I'm using my handphone, and only log in when I'm using my laptop at home, so the updates thread is a nice touch :)

Wow, this caught me pretty out of guard since my computer has been long dead for a whole month so I have to rent comps to know what's going on at least one time or twice in the week so i always log out when I left the site. I was weirded out at first when i saw that i only can see this section, then i checked and well... it's not as surprising, and more expeted considering that netiquette as has been said goes fying over a lot of head from the people on the net.

It can't stop it though but at least it would be more difficult for them and yeah, the watermarking it's needed

Hug for all of you <3

Hi! I've been a DB lurker since a while now hehehe

I think it's awesome that places like this exist in fandom, where you can find great updated information and a very friendly and intellectual enviroment... it is actually quite rare in manga forums and that's why I like this place so much! So many good analysis and interesting opinions.

It's very sad that there exist people that can't respect and appreciate the hard work you put into this even knowing you don't get anything in exchange and just do it to share good info and have fun squeeing together ... so I completely understand your decision, at least you can control it somehow ;) And hey, you may get lurkers like me to encourage and start participating and sharing stuff too ;3

Anyways, thank you all for your hard work and for sharing all this goodies with us!! I'll try to participate more too!! ^.^)/

This new measure is not a problem for me personally and I fully understand your reasons.

Unfortunately what is happening is the nature of the beast. Also, that a minority is spoiling things for the majority is a frustration I have experienced in many ways, not just in the Bleach fandom.

I think the best you can do is limiting unwanted distribution of goodies and information but I don`t think there is a way to stop it completely. The most annoying is outright theft but there is also the possibility that especially information from DB might be repeated in the flow of a discussion without any malice in mind. Things can slip out during a passionate exchange. Once I had to stop myself when I suddenly realized where I first learned about it and didn`t mention it in BA.

Another problem are some of the newcomers. I see this in BA all the time: Some newcomers don`t familiarize themselves enough with the rules of conduct and start posting. For my taste there was really too much Orihime in the IchiRuki FC in BA but the mods don`t say anything and when I sent a message to the three owners as co-owner I didn`t hear anything back. OK, if they are fine with it I keep out of it.

I suggest, to cut down unwanted distribution because of ignorance you could have an eye catching introduction text that immediately draws attention to anybody who opens this place. “Are you new here? Welcome! Before you read and post, please observe the following rules and guidelines.” (Just a suggestion)

For repeat offenders, maybe naming and shaming is a good idea, too. Especially if the offender really should have known better.
