Forum locked to members-only

Hello guys!

This is quite sudden, but we have decided to lock Deathberry to members only - something that we didn't want at first. It's not that we fear what we say - if it was only that, DB would still be open - it's just that apparently, some people take it to heart to take what we find/what members translate for us without crediting us/asking for permission (yes, I am looking at someone who did it and who is a member, next time you are SO out).

Of course, anyone is free to join - still no pledge to IchiRuki when you join - and still lurk. We hope that you'll forgive us for the inconvenience, but now we're going to be stricter on who can see what we say and who can't, since apparently net etiquette is flying way above heads

This also means that IN NO WAY OR SHAPE what we share is meant to be found on BA. And if you want to share somewhere else, credit DB and ask to credit - the most important stuff will be watermarked to death since it looks that we have no other way.

For the oldest members, I guess it'll mean you'll have to be logged to check out DB. In compensation, we'll have a little gift for you soon, so stay tune

UPDATE: Well, seeing that some people still insist to diss us after we closed the forum, might as well move the sensible stuff (aka novel thread and omake thread) to a locked subforum and leave the general forum opened.

People please the announcement I made in the general section to have access to this, thank you.

I was going to suggest logging into BA and neg-repping anyone who posts DB stuff over there, given how much BA people kick and scream whenever they get neg-repped. But this is definitely the better option.

Oh, I like your option, too, though.  If they care so much about BA, a neg rep will at least sting.  And several members here still have pretty high rep power over there, so a neg rep might actually hurt.

Well, I know it's tempting to keep going back there (I've looked and I've always regretted it--it's like looking at old photos after a divorce and going "why did I let it go on for so long?") but really my suggestion is to let go.

I'm a little sad about the board locking down because I truly believe you can't stop thieves but this will make things more difficult and yes, this was inevitable. Like Syn said, no one wanted this. I'm beyond fed up with the prolonged drama. I'm still going to be keeping myself aware of what's going on in fandom but insofar as negging people--I don't know. I don't want to log back into BA. If anyone ever figures out how to convince Vbulletin to make Velius delete accounts let me know, because I would like to be rid of that place formally forever, but I know as the situation stands Vel doesn't let accounts go because the board still needs them for advertisers. This attitude may or may not be a violation of TOC but I'm not going to pursue the matter, personally.

Anyway, I'm always logged in here. And checking in all the time for stuffs. Always something to talk about here.

As delicious as the poetic justice of that is, mods at BA can cancel neg rep at will and I'm pretty sure that anyone that complained to them about getting neg repped for posting goodies filched from DB would instantly get it removed (and probably be repped to boot). It's a shame that this forum was driven to this, especially since it wasn't what the owners wanted at first, but if it makes life a bit more difficult for thieves, then good.

Think we all agree the drama has gone long enough, and same old debates are not humorous anymore (Orihime x Dome OTP). As long as Deathberry always roll out good and intriguing discussions; this place is fine the way it is, it just makes it more intellectually sophisticated and complex this forum has become.

I don't mind the lock down, seeing that it's the only way to avoid fanart theives and other lurkers who take goodies and don't credit. Hopefully we won't have to deal with that again.

As for me, I'm always login whenever I get the chance so I don't find it inconvenient.

Like we said before. We didn't want to lock down since I want nice IchiRuki lurkers to be able to read posts and get goodies. But given some BA members take stuffs from here and worse fail to mention that they initially find them here in order to post in BA. So I rather lock it down and have people who matter to DB be able to freely post.

Out of curiosity, what about those who will use one name here and then post the goodies on BA under another name?

It is sad that the amins have had to make this decision, all because some people would not simply follow a request. *shakes head*
